The life and times of Jessica's career... Many young children want to become doctors, nurses, or even veterinarians..but for Jessica Castellanos, she always knew that someday she would be a singer. Growing up in Garden Grove-California as a young child, she had a passion for music. Even though her parents couldn't afford singing lessons, she didn't let anything get in the way of her dreams. Everything was a learning experience for her. Jessica always listened to as much music as she could, including some of her musical influences Aretha Franklin, Madonna, and Mariah Carey, as well as her father's Colombian Cumbias. At the age of 4, she sang for the first time in front of an audience at the Evangel Templo church. After singing "Te Vengo A Decir," it was then that she told her mother she wanted to be a singer. As each year passed Jessica still believed in becoming a famous singer. Her third grade teacher asked what she wanted to be when she grew up and of course Jessica replied by saying she wanted to be a singer. Jessica also assured her teacher that it wasn't just a dream but that it would become reality. After many years as a soloist, recording in the studio, and lots of hard work...an amazing opportunity came along. Jessica was introduced to America Olivo and Aurora Rodriguez by a mutual producer friend. The girls hit it off right away but something was still missing. Once T Lopez joined the group the puzzle was complete, and they formed SOLUNA! Each girl contributes something special to the group...bonding together to make beautiful music. Jessica and the girls have recorded their first album entitled "For All Time" which was released back in May of 2002, went on tour with Marc Anthony & Enrique Iglesias, done tons of radio and t.v. performances, been featured in numerous magazines, as well as contributed to many charity events. If that wasn't astonishing enough, there's even a sitcom of their experiences in the works on UPN, as well as working on a second album. What makes this even better for the girls of Soluna is that they're not only bandmates, but good friends enjoying what they do and living each day to its fullest. Besides singing, Jessica also loves to write songs and wrote a few songs along with the other girls for their album. No matter how busy Jessica is, she always finds some time whenever she can to get online and keep in touch with the fans on the message board. Not only does she have talent in singing, dancing, and writing, but she stays down to earth and has a great sense of humor..always making people laugh. Jessica has come a long way from an ambitious 4 year old with big dreams, to being 1/4 of the Latin pop group Soluna...touching so many fans with their great personalities and amazing music. The Journey to success hasn't been easy, but Jessica has proved that by never giving up and having lots of determination can pay off in the end. Jessica's able to live her dream each day and inspiring others that dreams really do come true.
